Are all of your cheesecakes & desserts vegan?

No, not all of our cheesecakes are vegan/plant-based. We have a 100% plant-based/vegan range and a separate dairy-based range. They are clearly marked so you cannot get confused. All of our cheesecakes & dessert products are approved for both vegans and vegetarians by the Vegetarian Society. 


Do you use animal fats like gelatine in your cheesecakes & desserts?

No - never! We don't use any animal fats in any of our products. All of our products are 100% vegetarian and all our vegan products are 100% plant-based and prepared in a separate space to the dairy cheesecakes.

Being 100% vegetarian and 100% vegan friendly is part of our DNA and most of our team is one or the other of these.


How can you offer vegan and dairy cheesecakes & desserts?

We started off producing incredible dairy-based cheesecakes because we were disappointed in the lack of high-quality vegetarian friendly desserts. Since then our founder, Dani, has gone 100% plant-based vegan and has work tirelessly over the past few years to develop a vegan/plant-based cheesecake that matches the dairy-based products in terms of quality, taste and texture.

We firmly believe that a plant-based lifestyle is far healthier for humans and far more sustainable for the planet. However, we also recognise that many people are not ready to make that change yet so we are happy to show them how incredible a plant-based lifestyle can be/taste, whilst also offering alternative dairy-based products for those who aren't quite ready.


What about cross contamination between dairy and plant-based?

Good question! We operate 3 separate kitchens at our manufacturing facility; one is entirely plant-based , another is where our dairy-based products are produced and finally, we have a completely separate gluten and nut prep-area to ensure that nothing can come into contact with other ingredients or recipes. We use entirely separate equipment to ensure that dairy, plant-based & gluten-free never come into contact with one another.


Are your products Kosher/Halal?

As we do not have or allow any animal fats or meat-based products on our premises, all of our products are technically Kosher & Halal. We are in the process of getting full accreditation from the relevant agencies and once we have that, we will update this information.


Do you offer Gluten-Free products?

Almost all of our products are Gluten-Free. All of our cheesecakes use our own special gluten-free biscuit base recipe. And almost all of our cheesecake topping recipes are gluten-free with the exception of:

  • Baklava, which contains filo pastry and
  • Tiramisu, which contains sponge fingers which contain wheat.

Which (if any) food allergens are in your products?

We are acutely aware of allergies and the risks they pose. Equally, we are very conscious of peoples dietary choices or restrictions. And that is why we have baked this into our DNA as a business (sorry for the pun!)

Our delicious cheesecake biscuit bases are gluten-free, nut-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, soya-free and palm-oil free.

We have 2 cheesecake recipes that contain nuts &/or gluten - our tiramisu cheesecake and our baklava cheesecake. Both items are clearly labelled and are prepared in completely different areas to the rest of our product range.

Do your cakes contain nuts?

The vast majority of our products contain no nuts, however, we do offer a few products that do contain nuts. Click here to see our NUT-FREE range.

To avoid cross contamination, we never make batches of cakes containing nuts at the same time as any other recipes and always store products containing nuts completely separately from other recipes.

We also operate a 3 zone kitchen to ensure products cannot cross-contaminate each other; we have a vegan kitchen, vegetarian/dairy kitchen and a nut & gluten product area, each with their own equipment and storage.

All of our products containing nuts are clearly labelled as such.

However,  as we are not a nut-free facility, our cakes may contain trace elements of nuts.


What type of base do you use?

All of our cheesecake bases are made using our own top-secret, insanely yummy,  double-baked gluten-free, sugar-free, nut-free & dairy-free biscuit recipe. They are delicious in their own right as biscuits but even more yummy when topped with our amazing cheesecake recipes.

Can I place an order and collect from your premises?

Yes, by prior arrangement only. When you place an order, you can choose CLICK AND COLLECT, which is free. You can select a date to collect from trade-counter and we will contact you to agree a convenient time for pick-up.

Can I change or cancel my order once it's been placed?

You are able to change or cancel your order within 3 hours from placement of order, or within 30 minutes if you have opted for a next day delivery. You must make these changes by telephone as you are unable to cancel or amend your order online.


Can I deliver to different addresses?

You can deliver to only one designated address per order.


Which forms of payment do you accept?

We accept the following forms of payment: Solo, Switch, Maestro, Visa, Visa Electron, Marstercard and Amex


Can I choose my delivery date?

Yes, you can choose which date you would like to have your cake delivered. Don't forget that we don't deliver on Sundays or Mondays!


How secure is my information when I'm ordering?

Kambee does not store your credit card details. We use Stripe as the payment gateway for website orders. Click here for more information about Stripe.


What does Kambee do with my information?

Any information that you give to us through this site is kept secure & private within Kambee. Any information gathered is solely used to help us understand our customers, facilitate orders & deliveries and to provide customers with relevant promotions. Your privacy is important to us. Storage & Freezing Q&A

Can I freeze my cheesecakes?

Technically there is no reason why you shouldn't. However, these are high quality freshly made dessert products and are ideally best served within 72-hours of purchase. Please see our Storage section for more information regarding this.


Can I freeze my cake?

Once your product has been defrosted it should not be refrozen. For all information regarding the storage of your cake, please see our guide to freezing and defrosting.


How long can I keep my cake in the fridge or freezer?

You can keep most of our cakes in the fridge for up to 4 days after they have been defrosted, however always check the best before label on the side of the box. For all information regarding the storage of your cake, please see our guide to freezing and defrosting.

Where are Kambee cheesecakes & desserts made?

All of our desserts, cheeesecakes & biscuit bases are made in our commercial kitchen located in Marston Moretaine (Bedfordshire) - yes, that's where Captain Tom lives :-)


What is the best way to cut a cheesecake?

The best way to cut a whole cake is when it is partially thawed. Cut the desired portion size with a knife dipped in hot water. However you can have your 20cm cakes pre-portioned when purchasing if you'd prefer.


What is the best way to serve a cheesecake?

We recommended serving our cakes chilled at around 4-5°C.
